Adorned in Dreams
The book recommended by Nilgin. I have finished to read the introduction part and it impressed me and allow me know fashion more well. She said 'fashion is speaking capitalism' so I finally find out that the reason why 'hate' fashion is that I come from a socialist country. It is interesting. I like the theory she mentioned that if the body with its open orifices is itself dangerously ambiguous, then dress, which is an extension of the body to the social world, but also more clearly separates the two. Dress is the frontier between the self and the not self. (1985, 3) I keep thinking the question that dose ore body have boundary or not. If it has a boundary, how to explain the hair and nail? If it does not have a boundary, what is the meaning of dress?
